Sai fanart!

I finally got paint tool Sai to work with my windows partition on my computer, and basically for 10 hours today I messed around trying to get accustomed to it. And since I'm now on break I can afford to draw whatever I want, so what happened is female versions of Heavy and Medic from Team Fortress 2!

My first try at it was some sassy Heavy:

And second was Heavy and Medic in possible post-cuddle position. I like painting in sai, blending is super easy.


So there it is! I'm looking forward to practicing with it more.

We sure are drawing a lot of ourselves in Drawing from the Tablet.

Maybe I'm getting better at it? The second one doesn't look much like me though.

Oh well.

Not too different, but I think I like it better. The clouds don't bother me as much and I fixed the bottom crane's faux-hawk.

Sea Lord

More character design homework from a few weeks ago, we had to design characters based on objects piled together; this guy's from a knit jellyfish, a teal and pink zebra striped eraser, some thread, and a compass.

I kind of dig how his design turned out. I guess he's some kind of sea god or something? Dat beard. I don't know about the coloring, I was experimenting?

Sir Lion

I was asked to design the coupon for the MICA Store that's going to appear in the next issue of The Rooster (a zine that a student here produces), they told me I could do whatever I wanted so I drew a lion general? I don't know where it came from. But I think he's pretty classy, and it was good practice with pens (which I need!)

The actual coupon isn't blank in the middle like that, but I didn't want people printing it out and using it or something lame like that.

Space western!

A lineup of my finished characters for Character Design homework, I wanted to do a space-western kind of background for them :)

So the main characters are Dalton, Lady, and Thaddeus. They go on adventures on a space ship? I dunno haha. Dalton is the leader of the group, he's got a complex because of his height and is really confrontational and headstrong, but he's got good intentions. Lady is an alien with a knife specialty (she can throw them around by manipulating her personal gravitational field but skldajhflkjsd let's not get into that), her name isn't really Lady but she's got some weird-ass alien name that no one can pronounce so they call her that. Thaddeus is the engineer, he was a successful businessman that retired with loads of money, but got really bored doing nothing so took up tinkering and ended up being good at it. They don't actually pay him to ride along with them, he can support himself and just likes the adventure.

Cyllus is the baddie of the story, he's got a monopoly on all the trade routes and does bad things? He's got it in his head that he's a guy of high class and always wears really expensive suits and such, but he doesn't realize that he's incredibly tacky and ridiculous looking. No one will tell him because he'll probably eat them.

Anyway, so there they are, I really like how they came out!
